Drumming is an important part of my life

It’s an art that allows me to make music from hitting things with sticks

Turning anger and stress into beats

A form of focused meditation

And I believe that’s rad

Feeling the music

Freely moving my hands and feet

Knowing instinctively when a beat is off, or a sound isn’t fitting

The clock of my own rhythm

Guided by the speed of the metronome

Sometimes, there is fast play

Other times, it’s slower, more chilled play

Just like life
